The research explored peer-to-peer file sharing technologies to find a way of reducing the time required to manage file sending while increasing the minimum security level of the application. Most approaches suffer from being cumbersome to setup and use, or are lacking in security. The ability to send files without incurring costs are therefore in great demand. Wireless services however, come at the cost of mobile data. This could lead to files being sent to the wrong people or enabling unwanted files to be received accidentally. ![]() Additionally, most current applications for p2p file sending lack any form of built-in security and enable one to send files to anyone in proximity. Furthermore, many applications require a time consuming confirmation for each file. This takes time and the presence of users and their devices. Traditionally, p2p technologies require a lengthy handshaking process that requires both devices to initiate the connection and begin sending. Many of the applications present today that enable p2p file sharing are cumbersome and require both devices to be present during setup for files to be sent. Countless devices are sharing information with each other through services such as cloud storage, local area networks, and client servers. The millions of mobile devices being used globally have promoted the sharing of information at an unprecedented rate. While the URLs for these apps were blocked by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and their cloud services are also down or blocked, for the local sharing and management features, the apps will continue to work if they are installed before getting banning in their devices. Apart from that two are more popular for file sharing application i.e., ShareIT and Xender. As we are all watched in news, recently Government of India blocked services of apps from play store and made no more availability of more than 59 to 60 apps due to privacy concerns and security issues. ![]()
